The Best of Zhaoqing
Visit scenic spots, iconic temples, and the ancient city wall
Although an industrial city in southern China’s Guangdong province, Zhaoqing is also famous for its fresh air and beautiful mountains—which you can easily enjoy from our well-situated resort. Admire the hundreds of Tang Dynasty inscriptions decorating the adjacent Seven Star Crags, check out the rare red-crowned cranes in Xingu Wetland Park, and see the spectacular waterfall and Buddhist temple of Qingyun on a hike at Dinghu Mountain. Head to the Dragon Mother Ancestral Temple in Deqing County where people pray to the dragon, the god of water, for safe voyages, needed rain, and bumper harvests. Dating back to the 10th century Song Dynasty, the Ancient City Wall of Zhaoqing was used to defend the city while the Zhaoqing Museum captures the history of the Ye Ting regiment and the Communist party. If you’re here with kids, take them to the fanciful playground at Children’s Park, the nightly fountain show at Paifang Park, or China’s largest amusement park: Chimelong Paradise.
