Featured Attractions in Singapore

Marina Bay

Various attractions, the civic district and heritage areas are within walking distance from the city centre.  Take a picture with Merlion, the iconic half-fish and half-lion symbol of Singapore that resides at Merlion Walk, overlooking Marina Bay.  Right by the water at Marina Bay is the beautifully landscaped Gardens by the Bay, home to Cloud Forest and Flower Dome cool conservatories that are filled with blooms from around the world.

Clarke Quay

Admire the city’s skyline from the Singapore Flyer, a giant observation wheel or take in the nightlights from 1-Altitude, a rooftop bar perched at a peak of 282 metres.

Take a peek into the country’s colonial past and its art by exploring the Civic District, where Singapore’s historical, architectural and cultural heritage started.  Trace Singapore’s history through the displays at the National Museum of Singapore.  Too tired from all the walking?  Head to Boat Quay, Clarke Quay or Robertson Quay by Singapore River, where you will be spoilt for choice with a wide selection of restaurants/cafes offering cuisines from around the world.

Singapore Heritage Trails

To learn about Singapore’s immigrant past, meander through the charming alleyways of heritage areas such as Arab Street, Chinatown and Little India.  For something a little different, go on a Balestier Heritage Trail.  One of Singapore’s most prized historical areas, it offers visitors an up-close look of the country’s association with the 1911 Chinese Revolution.  The first president and founding father of the Republic of China, Sun Yat Sen lived here and his villa has been turned into a Memorial Hall.

Surrounding Islands

Venture further and you will discover that the island is not all concrete structures.  Have a fun-filled day at Sentosa, an island resort with gorgeous beaches, trendy beach bars and theme parks.  Hike in nature reserves such as MacRitchie Reservoir, a secondary rainforest in the midst of the city; or take a bumper boat to Pulau Ubin, a kampong (traditional village) off Changi Coast.
