What is happening with La Quinta Returns?
At 11:59 p.m. ET on April 2, 2019, the La Quinta Returns program will end, and on April 3, 2019 La Quinta hotels will officially join Wyndham Rewards.
What does this mean for La Quinta Returns members?
Here’s what you need to know:
o Earn and Redeem
La Quinta Returns will officially end at 11:59 p.m. ET on April 2 and members may earn points up until then. Members wanting to redeem points must do so by 11:59 p.m. ET on March 31.
o Wyndham Rewards Enrollment and Membership
- U.S. Members
La Quinta Returns members who are not yet Wyndham Rewards members will be automatically enrolled in the Wyndham Rewards program and subject to the Wyndham Rewards Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notice. You will receive your new account information on or around April 3. Any La Quinta Returns member who does not wish to be automatically enrolled in the Wyndham Rewards program may opt out of doing so online through March 8, 2019 at www.lq.com/confirm. To opt out between March 8, 2019 and April 2, 2019, please call La Quinta Returns Customer Service at 1-800-642-4258. You may change your marketing communications preferences by signing into your Wyndham Rewards account or by contacting Wyndham Rewards Member Services at 1-866-996-7937. To terminate your account after April 2, 2019, please contact Wyndham Rewards Member Services at 1-866-996-7937. NOTE: Opting out will result in the forfeiture of any LQR points not used by 11:59 p.m. ET on March 31, 2019.
- Non U.S. Members (or those without a physical address on file)*:
Non U.S. La Quinta Returns members will not be automatically enrolled in the Wyndham Rewards program. La Quinta Returns members who would like to be enrolled in the Wyndham Rewards Program must opt in online to the Wyndham Rewards program by March 8, 2019 at www.lq.com/confirm, which requires agreement to the Wyndham Rewards Terms and Conditions and an indication that you have read the Privacy Notice. To opt in to enrollment after March 8, 2019 through April 2, 2019, please call La Quinta Returns Customer Service at 1-800-642-4258. NOTE: Not opting in will result in the forfeiture of any La Quinta Returns points not used by 11:59 p.m. ET on March 31, 2019.
o Point Transfer
La Quinta Returns members are encouraged to transfer their La Quinta Returns points into Wyndham Rewards points by March 31, 2019 in order to ensure they transfer at a ratio of one La Quinta Returns point to one Wyndham Rewards point. After this date, points will transfer automatically, at a 1:1 ratio for Elite and Gold members, as well as for any Silver members who are also currently Wyndham Rewards Platinum or Diamond members, but at a reduced ratio of two La Quinta Returns points to 1 Wyndham Rewards point for other Silver members.
o Status Match
- U.S. Members
New Wyndham Rewards Members.
If you are a La Quinta Returns member, do not opt out of the Wyndham Rewards program, and are new to Wyndham Rewards on April 3, 2019, you will be assigned a new Wyndham Rewards Member number. Your Member Level will be determined by your number of qualified La Quinta returns nights between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018. To determine what your Member Level will be, please refer to the following chart.

If you are a La Quinta Returns member, and are already a Wyndham Rewards member as well, any qualified nights you completed at La Quinta hotels between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018 will advance you to the subsequent Member Level in Wyndham Rewards only to the extent the number of La Quinta qualified nights meets the number of Qualifying Nights required to reach such level in the Wyndham Rewards program. Qualified nights you complete between January 1, 2019 and April 2, 2019 will be added to your Wyndham Rewards Member Level as Qualifying Nights.
- Non U.S. Members (or those without a physical address on file)*:
New Wyndham Rewards Members.
If you are a La Quinta Returns member, do not opt out of the Wyndham Rewards program, and are new to Wyndham Rewards on April 3, 2019, you will be assigned a new Wyndham Rewards Member number. Your Member Level will be determined by your number of qualified La Quinta returns nights between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018. Existing Wyndham Rewards Members.
If you are a La Quinta Returns member, and are already a Wyndham Rewards member as well, any qualified nights you completed at La Quinta hotels between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018 will advance you to the subsequent Member Level in Wyndham Rewards only to the extent the number of La Quinta qualified nights meets the number of Qualifying Nights required to reach such level in the Wyndham Rewards program. Qualified nights you complete between January 1, 2019 and April 2, 2019 will be added to your Wyndham Rewards Member Level as Qualifying Nights.
o Military Status
US and Canadian military service members and their spouses will continue to have the benefit of special perks at La Quinta hotels through April 2. Starting April 3, Wyndham Rewards will introduce new benefits for these members which will be applicable to all “by Wyndham” hotels across the Wyndham Rewards portfolio, including:
> 12% off or more at all 9,000+ “by Wyndham” hotels (applies to best available rate)
> Complimentary upgrade to Wyndham Rewards Gold member level
> 1k bonus points after first qualified stay
> Access to a dedicated Member Services phone number
Will anything change before April 2?
Yes, changes have been/will be made to La Quinta Returns in preparation for its discontinuation and La Quinta hotels’ participation in Wyndham Rewards on April 3, 2019. Here’s what you need to know:
o Member Kits (Member Cards)
Effective January 1, 2019, La Quinta Returns will no longer send annual Member Kits to existing La Quinta Returns members and new members will not receive a Member Kit upon enrollment.
o Gold Member Room Upgrades
Gold Member Room Upgrades will be available for redemption until La Quinta Returns ends on April 2, 2019. While Gold members can continue to enjoy the benefit of up to two (2) free Gold Member Room Upgrades up until 11:59 p.m. ET on April 2, Gold members will not receive physical copies of the upgrade certificates in the mail. Before La Quinta Returns is discontinued on April 2, 2019, you can call La Quinta Returns Customer Service at 1-877-846-5357 (1-800-642-4258) to book your reservation and claim your free room upgrades, two (2) in total.
o Points + Cash Redemptions
This feature was discontinued on December 1, 2018. Members who do not have enough Returns points for a Free Night Reward at a specific hotel can use the Buy Points option here in order to purchase any additional points needed to redeem at the desired hotel. This feature will be available through March 31, 2019.
o Member Status
Through April 2, 2019, La Quinta Returns members will continue to enjoy their Member Status in effect as of December 31, 2018. For clarity, even if your Member Status was scheduled to expire as of December 31, 2018, it has been extended until La Quinta Returns transitions to Wyndham Rewards on April 3, 2019.
o Free Night Stay Vouchers
Free Night Stay Vouchers will be honored beyond April 2, through each voucher’s expiration date, which can be found on the top left-hand corner of the front of the voucher.
o Redeem Away!
As of January 1, 2019, La Quinta Returns members were no longer able to enroll into the Redeem Away! program. The last day La Quinta Returns members enrolled in Redeem Away! can redeem La Quinta Returns points for Redeem Away! purchases will be March 31, 2019.
Can new members still enroll in La Quinta Returns?
Yes, members may enroll in the program through March 31, 2019.
Can I still earn La Quinta Returns points when I stay at La Quinta hotels?
Yes. La Quinta Returns members can earn La Quinta Returns points for qualified nights completed through April 2, 2019. After that time, you will not be able to earn La Quinta Returns points.
What is the last date for which I can earn La Quinta Returns points at La Quinta hotels?
April 2, 2019 is the last date for which La Quinta Returns members can earn Returns points for qualified nights at La Quinta hotels.
What is the last day I can earn La Quinta Returns points for purchases made with the La Quinta Returns partners?
The last day you can earn points for purchases made with La Quinta Returns partners will be April 2, 2019.
Can I earn Wyndham Rewards points for stays at La Quinta hotels?
Not yet. Wyndham Rewards members cannot earn Wyndham Rewards points at La Quinta hotels until April 3, when La Quinta hotels officially join Wyndham Rewards. However, eligible La Quinta purchases (including room payment and certain on-property purchases) earn Wyndham Rewards points before that date, when paid with the Wyndham Rewards® Visa® Card.

What will happen to my La Quinta Returns status?
If you are a new Wyndham Rewards member, your member level will be based on the number of qualified nights stayed at La Quinta hotels from January 1, 2018 to April 2, 2019. If you are already a Wyndham Rewards member, your member level will be based on the combined number of qualified nights stayed at La Quinta hotels and the number of qualified nights stayed that your Wyndham Rewards account shows you completed at Wyndham Rewards properties by April 2, 2019.
What will happen to my existing La Quinta reservations?
All reservations will remain intact. Beginning on April 3, U.S. members who have not opted out of Wyndham Rewards, and non-US Members (and those with no physical address on file)* who have opted in to the program, will begin receiving Wyndham Rewards points on qualified stays. Note: La Quinta Returns members will not have access to their La Quinta Returns account history after April 3 and are encouraged to print/save those details in advance if they require records of it.

The last day to earn La Quinta Returns points is April 2, 2019.
Can I change or modify existing La Quinta Returns Free Night Stay redemptions and paid stays?
Yes. You can continue to change or modify any existing La Quinta Returns Free Night Stay redemptions and paid stays, in accordance with the La Quinta Returns programs terms and conditions and applicable hotel’s cancellation policy, on lq.com or by calling La Quinta Returns Customer Service at 1-800-642-4258 through April 2, 2019.
