General
What’s changing?
We’re making Wyndham Rewards even more rewarding with a host of new features—from free nights starting at just 7,500 points per night and the addition of more than 900 La Quinta® hotels to the ability to earn and redeem points with a host of new and expanded partners.
Here’s what’s new:
A Faster Path to Free & Discounted Nights
Allowing more members to redeem points where and how they want, Wyndham Rewards will offer three tiers for both free night redemptions (go freeSM) and points + cash redemptions (go fastSM). Redemptions for go free will be available for 7,500 points, 15,000 points, and 30,000 points; while go fast redemptions will be available for 1,500 points + cash, 3,000 points + cash, and 6,000 points + cash. (Note: All go free and go fast redemption options are per bedroom, per night.) Members will also earn points on the cash portion of go fast.
Over 30,000 Hotels, Club Resorts, Vacation Rentals, & Counting
Wyndham Rewards already offers one of the largest, most diverse redemption portfolios in the world and now it’s getting even bigger—from club resorts and vacation rentals to more than 900 La Quinta hotels.
More Ways to Earn, More Ways to Redeem
Wyndham Rewards will debut a host of new and expanded partnerships this spring. Members can look forward to earning and redeeming points with Viator when booking tours and activities around the globe. The program will also unveil a new shopping portal, enabling members to earn points on purchases with thousands of online retailers. Learn more here.
Why are you making these changes?
Wyndham Rewards members told us they want more flexibility when it comes to redeeming for award nights and expanded options for earning and redeeming points outside of just stays. These changes are a direct response to that feedback and underscore our commitment to delivering a simple, generous rewards program that’s uniquely designed for the needs of the everyday traveler.
When will these changes take effect?
We anticipate changes will take effect starting April 3, 2019.
go free, go fast, go get ’em
What happens to go free/go fast award nights that I book(ed) on or before April 2, 2019, but that are scheduled for check-in after that date?
In cases where you’ve booked an award night at a property that lowers its redemption level on April 3, 2019, you’ll receive a credit for the difference between the number of points you redeemed and the number of points such property requires as of April 3, 2019.
In cases where you’ve booked an award night at a property that raises its redemption level on April 3, 2019, you won’t be charged for such increase. For example, a member who redeems 15,000 points on March 15, 2019 for a go free award night to take place on April 4, 2019 will not be “charged” an additional 15,000 points for such award night, even if the applicable property moves to the 30,000 point redemption tier on April 3, 2019. (Please allow 4 to 6 weeks post stay for any credit owed to you pursuant to this FAQ to process.)
Regardless of the above scenarios, all other Wyndham Rewards terms and conditions at the time of booking will continue to apply.
How many points will I need to redeem for a go free award?
Redemptions for go free will be available for 7,500 points, 15,000 points, or 30,000 points per bedroom, per night and will vary by participating property based on redemption tier.
How many points/how much cash will I need to redeem for a go fast award?
Redemptions for go fast will be available for 1,500 points + cash, 3,000 points + cash, or 6,000 points + cash per bedroom, per night and will vary by participating property based on redemption tier. Cash amount required will vary based by property. Taxes, incidentals, and resort fees are additional.
Will go free/go fast awards have blackout dates?
Free night awards (go free) at all “by Wyndham” hotels will continue to have no blackout dates, while awards at club resorts, vacation rentals, and Caesars Entertainment properties may have blackout dates, depending on property, season, or other factors. Cash + points awards (go fast) will continue to be subject to availability and may not be available at all properties at all times.
Do these changes apply to club resorts, vacation rentals, and other non-hotel properties?
Yes. These changes apply to any property that participates in the Wyndham Rewards program.
When is the last day to book go free/go fast award nights under the current structure?
Members have through 11:59 p.m. ET on April 2, 2019 to redeem their points under the existing program structure.
Will go free/go fast change with seasonality?
We do not intend to change a hotel’s tier based on seasonality; however, we do anticipate reviewing and potentially adjusting hotel tiers annually.
Are there any changes to go get ’em?
No. Members who elect to receive Wyndham Rewards points (as opposed to miles or other travel partner currency) will continue to earn a minimum of 1,000 points for every Qualified Stay.
How will earning points on go fast work?
When a member books a go fast award, the cash portion paid (excluding taxes, incidentals, and other applicable fees) will earn 10 points per dollar.
Will go get ’em apply to go fast bookings?
No. While you will earn Wyndham Rewards points on the cash portion paid for your room rate (excluding taxes, incidentals, and other applicable fees), go fast awards will not be eligible for go get ’em awards. They will, however, continue to qualify toward member level achievement.
Can I earn travel partner currency on go fast bookings?
Yes. Members who choose to earn travel partner currency instead of Wyndham Rewards points as their earn preference will receive travel partner currency for go fast bookings.
Will there still be bonus point promotions?
Yes. We anticipate continuing to run bonus point promotions, allowing you to earn extra points.
Will I still be able to redeem my points for gift cards and other merchandise?
Absolutely! We’ll still have a full catalog of redemption options that include gift cards, charitable donations, electronics, and other merchandise.
Where can I find a list of hotels and their new tiers?
We anticipate the vast majority of hotels, club resorts, and vacation rentals will be available at 15,000 points per bedroom or less and that a third of hotels will move to the 7,500 point redemption tier. Specifics will be available on April 3, 2019.

Member Levels
What changes are being made to member levels?
We’re replacing point bonuses at the PLATINUM and DIAMOND levels with accelerated earning, which will be available to GOLD level members and above. This is the only change to member levels.
Will PLATINUM and DIAMOND members still receive their point bonus in January 2020?
No. These will be replaced with accelerated earning.
Members will continue to receive 10 points per dollar spent on their room rate for most Qualified Stays (referred to in these FAQs as “base points”). In addition to those points, GOLD, PLATINUM, and DIAMOND members will receive extra points, calculated as a percentage of the number of base points earned for the stay as follows:
- GOLD level members: 10% of base points
- PLATINUM level members: 15% of base points
- DIAMOND level members: 20% of base points
How does go get ’em work with accelerated earning?
Accelerated earnings (if any) will be applied to a stay first, followed by go get ’em. In instances where accelerated earning pushes a member’s points earning above 1,000 points for a stay, go get ’em will not be applied. For example:
A GOLD member stays one night at a rate of $80 (before taxes and incidentals), earning 800 base points. Accelerated earning is applied (calculated as 10% of the base points earned), which adds 80 more points, for a total of 880 points. Because the total is fewer than 1,000 points, go get ’em is then applied, adding an additional 120 points and resulting in a total of 1,000 points for the stay.
A DIAMOND member stays one night at a rate of $125 (before taxes and incidentals), earning 1,250 base points. Accelerated earning is applied (calculated as 20% of the base points earned), which adds 250 more points, for a total of 1,500 points. Because the total earned with accelerated earning is over 1,000 points, go get ’em is not applied.
How will accelerated earning work for members who choose to earn travel partner currency?
Accelerated earning will only be available to qualifying members who choose to earn Wyndham Rewards points.
Will accelerated earning apply to go fast stays?
No. Accelerated earning will not apply to go fast stays.
Will accelerated earning apply to promotions?
Terms will vary by promotion but in general, accelerated earning will likely be calculated based on the number of base points earned (i.e. not on the number of base points + the number of promotional points earned).
Will go free/go fast award nights count toward my member level?
Yes. All award nights will continue to count toward your member level.
